Walkthrough: 5 - We've got hostiles
| |
Use the First-Aid and H.E.V units if required, then proceed to a
couple of red lasers, I know for a fact it's possible to get passed
these without touching them (they activate a sensory gun), but I
haven't been able to do it yet, but you might if you quick-save and
have a few (hundred) goes. If not, blast the sensory gun a few times
with the Shot Gun's secondary fire mode, you will get hurt, but you
didn't use all the life in the First-Aid and H.E.V. units, did you?
Kill the Headcrabs that teleport in for a visit, break the boxes,
then move on. |
| |
Some easy to pass trip-mines shouldn't get in your way, then get
ready for an attack of Alien Slaves. The next red laser is easy to
get passed so don't mess up there whatever you do! Quick-save just
in case though. Be careful of some Alien Slaves that appear right
next to the laser, make sure they don't walk into it. Climb the
boxes to the top and mind the sensory gun (they're also touch
activated), and watch out for about six Headcrabs that teleport in.
Break the glass on the fire door and walk up to (but don't touch)
the lasers. As soon as the fire door closes walk through the lasers,
the sensory guns will be activated, but they can't shoot through
fire doors! |
 |
The slippery little obstacle (see picture) is difficult, so
quick-save the game. Jump over the laser, and slide into the corner,
hold down forward so you don't bounce back, get into a crouch
position, and crawl to the right of the hall, right next to the
sensory gun. Quick-save, then jump over the next laser. Once again,
break the glass and walk on the other side of the fire-door, be
careful of walking into one of the scientists as they may walk into
a laser if your not careful. Once the fire door's closed use the
First-Aid Unit (if you need it). The lasers won't do anything (to
you anyway) anymore. If you look the G-man is standing on the
cat-walk above. Watch out for the Trip Mines, break any boxes you
can, then climb the ladder. |
| |
Say hello to your first member of the Military. Try to save the
scientist, collect the machine gun ammo (you'll need it in a
minute), then enter the lift.
Congratulations! You've completed Part 1! Save your game! |
| At the top, you will have a lot of Military to kill,
so get ready! After killing all the military, use the First-Aid and
H.E.V units, then continue to a bridge with lots of Barnacles. Now
for a sneaky shortcut. DON'T KILL THE BARNACLES. Look for a Barnacle
as close to the bridge as possible and quick-save the game. This may
take a few attempts. Walk into the Barnacle, face the bridge, and
kill the Barnacle just before it eats you and hold forward. You
should land on the upper bridge, if not try again! Congrats! You've
just done a whopper of a shortcut! |
| Follow the corridor under the red light to a room
with more Military. Kill them, break the boxes and enter the next
lift. DO NOT GO DOWN TO THE CONVEYER BELT, it is a part in the
middle of the two bridges. |
At the top of the lift is about five military men,
kill them and enter the bunker. At the bottom use the First-Aid and
H.E.V. units. Go through the door, kill the Military that drop from
a Helicopter, and get to the bottom and go through the shafts. All
there is to do now is work your way around the shafts collecting
ammo, health, and power (watching out for any active sensory guns),
before ending up back at the very beginning, by the Silo D door.
Listen to the scientist, open the door, and continue.
Congratulations! You've completed the Level! Save the game. |
